Limoncello

10 Lemons
1.75 Liter Vodka
7 Cups Water
5 Cups Sugar

With a sharp pairing knife peel the rind off of the lemons.  Make sure you only use the yellow part and remove any of the white pith,  In a 5 liter container combine the lemon rind and the 1.75 liter of vodka.  Store covered at room temperature for 2 weeks. 

Bring 7 cups of water to a boil and add 5 cups of sugar, stir until dissolved.  Add the sugar water (simple syrup) to the lemon / vodka mixture and chill over night.  Strain and enjoy...


Flourless Chocolate Torte

  • 1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 6 eggs whisked together
  • Parchment Paper cut to fit cake pans
  • 2 8" non stick cake pans

In a double boiler melt chocolate chips and butter.  Add sugar and cocoa powder, whisking to a smooth paste. 

Take off heat and whisk in the 6 eggs.

Line the bottom of the cake pans with parchment paper and butter the sides.  Evenly distribute the cake mixture between the pans.

Bake at 375 deg. for 25 min.  Let cool then flip each over onto a plate.  enjoy with a friend, or alone!
